US Green Building Council Southwest Virginia | USGBC The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices. USGBC is composed of more than 15,000 member organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Members includes building owners and end-users, real estate developers, facility managers, architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, product and building system manufacturers, government agencies, and nonprofits.

The Southwest Virginia Chapter is committed to promoting sustainable building practices specific to our region.
 
Southeast Regional Council
The regional councils were formed by the national USGBC to serve as a forum for chapters and affiliates to collaborate. The Southwest Virginia Chapter belongs to the Southeast Regional Council (SERC). Each chapter has two SERC representatives working to together with the national USGBC and other area chapters to support chapter growth. The SERC team meets quarterly and maintains communication throughout the year.

SWVA Representatives to SERC are: Steve Sunderman, RRMM and Nell Boyle, Breakell Inc.
